Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

The beautiful and serene retreat lodging is located in Frisco, North Carolina on the oceanside of Hatteras Island, only 3 houses from the beach. You can hear and see the ocean from the ample decks and even inside the home. Please see room photos. The address will be shared upon booking.
What is the OBX?
OBX is an abbreviation for The Outer Banks, which is a 200-mile stretch of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, on the east coast of the United States. It lines most of the North Carolina coastline, separating Currituck Sound, Albemarle Sound, and Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean. The Outer Banks are a major tourist destination known for their wide expanse of open beachfront and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

You can also rent a car if you prefer.
Is my transportation included in the retreat pricing?
No, flight and travel to the island are not included. For an additional fee, we are happy to help arrange ride shares or book transportation from the airport, if needed.

What is the weather like in May?
Many locals will tell you that May is a great time to visit. The Outer Banks weather is mild and generally quite pleasant in May. The beaches are peaceful as the crowds have not yet been drawn in by the start of summer break. Expect average temperatures in the mid 70s for a high and high 50s to high 60s for the low at night. These conditions make it comfortable for outdoor activities-perfect for a beach bonfire!
What should I pack?
Pack comfortable, casual, layered clothing for mild days and cooler nights. Consider if you will be participating in yoga, walking or other activities and bring suitable clothing for movement. A bathing suit, just in case it is warm, or you want to take a dip in the hot tub. Bring any beach/sun protection you might need (ex. sunscreen, hat, etc). Bring anything else that will make your stay more comfortable or enriching such as your journal, reading material, a note taking book, etc.

What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a deeply immersive experience where you are bathed in the healing vibrations of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and drums. These frequencies help guide you into a meditative state, allowing for deep relaxation, energetic alignment, and emotional release. No water is involved—just sound waves washing over you, creating a profound sense of peace and renewal.
What is therapeutic art?
Therapeutic art is a form of creative expression that fosters healing, self-discovery, and emotional release. Unlike traditional art, which focuses on the final product, therapeutic art emphasizes the process—allowing you to explore emotions, subconscious patterns, and intuitive insights through painting, drawing, collage, or other artistic mediums. No artistic experience is necessary; the goal is personal transformation, not perfection.
Will I have time to spend on my own?
Yes! While the retreat includes guided workshops, group activities, and transformational sessions, we also honor the importance of solitude and integration. You’ll have opportunities to explore the natural beauty of Cape Hatteras, journal, reflect, or simply rest. This retreat is designed to support your unique journey, balancing group connection with personal time for inner work and restoration.
